Tin model of the famous Bluebird, which set a record speed of 272.46 mph at Daytona Beach on 22nd February 1933. The original car was powered by a supercharged 2,500-hp V-12 Rolls Royce 'Schneider Trophy' type R aero engine. This model has a non supercharged and less powerful wind up clockwork engine. The 'Bluebird' cars were fantastic looking cars and, driven by Sir Malcolm Campbell, set many land speed records between 1924 and 1935 in the UK (Wales-Pendine Sands) and in the USA on Daytona beach and the Utah Bonneville Salt Flats.
This is wonderful tinplate model of the 1933 car and comes in a luxurious, well decorated box. Included are a limited edition certificate, a booklet with photographs and illustrations. Length 20 inches - 50cm.
